"Paws in Time is a dog-owner’s dream come true.”
“What a good dog!” A comment, such as this, was a long-time coming prior to beginning work with Julie Nelson at Paws in Time. Three years ago, our one-year-old lab, Harley, was rambunctious and full of energy. He was in need of constant attention and supervision. He had been elsewhere to basic obedience training, but he had barely passed the class. We were at our wits end with trying to monitor his behavior. Upon talking with a neighbor about my frustrations, she recommended Paws in Time as a doggy daycare option.
As owners of a one-year-old Labrador, this news was heaven sent. We would drop Harley off, he would run off his energy, and he would come home and sleep for almost 2 days! Of course, as he played more, his behaviors improved.
Although Harley was getting plenty of play and socialization, we still had the common behaviors such as jumping on people, stubbornness, and not wanting to come when called that we needed to break. At this point, Julie came to our house and provided personalized training for not only Harley, but also his owners. We were astonished by Julie’s talents.
Following this training, Harley attended the “Canine Good Citizen” class offered by Paws in Time and earned his certificate. Since then, he has become a wonderful companion and quite an impressive dog.
Due to weekly visits to Paws in Time, Harley has developed into a gentle and loving dog. He welcomes new dogs, plays gently with others (children and pets), and has remarkable manners. Julie and Harley have formed a bond – when Harley hears her name, he gets into the car and whimpers all the way to school.
We have been completely impressed with all aspects of Paws in Time. When Julie started the business, it was a small building simply met for play time for dogs. Now, it has blossomed into an all around pet resort. Now, when we venture away for a few days, we leave Harley in the care of his loving friends at Paws in Time. He has a luxurious suite to lounge in overnight and a great time playing during the day. This peace-of-mind allows us to enjoy our time away.
Paws in Time has been a dog-owner’s dream come true. It has made our relationship with Harley more than we could imagine. It’s heartwarming to know the kind and gentle professionals at Paws in Time. We believe whole-heartedly in Paws in Time and have already recommended it to numerous, equally-pleased clients.
Warmly,

“The boarding facilities are nicer than some hotels I’ve stayed in!”
We’ve been clients of Paws In Time since 2003 and are thrilled with everything they have to offer. We tell people that Julie is the “dog whisperer”. She has such a gift for communicating with the dogs. Our Old English Sheepdog went through the beginning and intermediate training classes and we were so impressed, we signed up for some daycare as well. We had never heard of daycare for dogs but found out it's a great way for the dogs to socialize. We didn’t understand the importance of that until we saw for ourselves how much the dogs enjoy it. It’s like children with play dates. We also have a Wheaten Terrier who is currently in training and also spends Time playing. The play areas are so large the dogs really have an opportunity to run and jump, both indoors and outdoors. It’s like a sports complex for dogs. While on the way there in the car, we get about half a mile away and both dogs get so excited because they know where they’re going. We don’t know how they know, but they do. Since Julie opened up the new facility she’s been able to offer boarding and grooming. Both dogs are now groomed at Paws In Time and receive compliments on their haircuts all the time. We’ve sent a few people there for grooming who are also pleased. Trying to travel when you have dogs is hard because you need someone to stay with your dogs. We are a bit overprotective and have refused in the past to board our dogs. Now that Paws In Time offers boarding we know the dogs will be safe when we go on a trip. The boarding facilities are nicer than some hotels I’ve stayed in. The suites have people beds and TV’s. The other kennels are also quite large and each has a cot so the dogs aren’t sleeping on the ground. The folks at Paws In Time pamper your dog. Julie is very particular about whom she hires. Everyone on her staff loves dogs. We feel so lucky to have found Julie and Paws In Time. Our dogs are part of our family and knowing they’re in good hands with Julie and everyone else at Paws In Time really puts our minds at ease.
“Professionalism, friendliness and cleanliness are evident when you walk in the door.”
Several years ago we found ourselves with a new puppy and no clue how to begin housebreaking her. Fortunately we found Paws in Time. Julie provided good common sense training for Sophie (and us) at our home. Thus began a beautiful relationship between our dog and Paws in Time that continues to this day. Training was followed by day care, grooming, and overnight stays; and now Sophie would rather be there than anywhere else.
Professionalism, friendliness and cleanliness are evident when you walk in the door. Paws in Time provides a safe and comfortable environment for both dogs and their owners. There is plenty of room, inside and out, for the dogs to run and socialize under the watchful eyes of the caring staff. We are always greeted warmly and we leave feeling that they know our dog is the most important dog of all.
Paws in Time has become an important part of Sophie’s life and she is never happier than when we say “Let’s go Julie”!

“Buster can't wait to go to Paws In Time every week.”
Julie is an excellent example of taking something you truly have a passion for and turning it into a successful business enterprise that benefits others. Her love of animals has made her a great dog trainer. Her awards for her champion show dogs proves that. In fact, we sometimes refer to Julie as the "dog whisperer". We were first-Time dog owners when we met Julie and thanks to her our Boxer, Buster, is a lovable, active and well-adjusted dog.
When she opened Paws In Time we were one of her first clients. It is a safe environment with employees who share Julie's love for dogs. Now, after almost 4 years and a new location, she has become a lifesaver for many of us dog owners in the area. Buster can't wait to go to Paws In Time every week and the staff continues to treat him like part of the family.
